Home at last, home at last. What a rush this last month has been, but it's time to be home and you all know how relaxing that can be. A down day today, making myself small, and watching football. Doing a little unpacking and a lot of relaxing. Thank you once again for following and I do hope that next time many of you can follow in person. Hope your Thanksgiving was wonderful and you remembered many things to be thankful for. (Like I'm thankful for YOU). Until the next time :)...

Rome Day Last
Hello from Rome, one and all,
Last day in Rome, and yes it’s cold and wet. BUT WE DON’T CARE!!!! Last day in Europe for we have a 9:45 flight tomorrow and although it’s been an incredible journey, we are ready to return to English, Dollars, Toilets with lids, our own vehicles, our own beds, and most of all, FAMILY AND FRIENDS THAT WE LOVE AND MISS!
Day 2 in Rome has been another incredible day. Once we got really deep into the city and places we’ve all heard of most of our lives we just got lost in history.
Short line at the Vatican so we hit it early. Oh what beauty we saw, and the history of Christianity was absolutely overwhelming. You just have to experience it. 2 – 3 hours of nothing but looking, taking photos, and living in the past. Go when you can.
Then it was off to the Trevi fountain. As you can see, it is beautiful and many people think the same. Sculpture, water, people, and peace all rolled into one.
Down the street to the Spanish Steps and again, lots of folks because of the peace and beauty. Just to stand there on the steps and listen, watch, and enjoy.
Next we went to St. Peters Basilica and it is nearly overwhelming. The paintings, the sculptures, the trim, the former Pope’s, the marble artwork, and I could go on and on, but I won’t. Go yourself or chat with someone that’s been there. You will love it.
Then there is the photo of our “last supper”. Spaghetti, bread, pork, and wine and we wind up the vacation to be talked about for years. Thank you Lord.
We leave EARLY, so I suppose it’s time for me to say so long and I’ll give a final this weekend. Thank you for being with me. It helped to have someone there all the time. I do hope you have enjoyed.
Love and happiness coming your way.

Rome Day One
Rome Day 1,
Disembarked from the Princess around 7:30 this morning and took a one hour taxi (Mercedes) ride into Rome. Checked in, got the shuttle into town and struck out again. Walked a couple of miles and witnessed so much history. We ended up at the “Colosseo” where Christians, Gladiators, Lions, Senators, and masses of folks lived and died each day. An architect wonder. Dark fell quickly so we returned to the room where we will rest and return to fight the traffic, shops, and scenery tomorrow. 48 hours from right now I should be in the Atlanta airport waiting to return home and see and talk with you.
Until then, know that all is well here and I hope the same where you are.

Santorini, At Sea, & Naples
Santorini, the High Seas, & Naples.
What a beautiful place to spend my birthday. Santorini. The weather was perfect, there were no crowds when we went in, (early), and then in the afternoon we took a tour to the other end of the island from where the early “viewing” was preformed. LOL.. I woke up to balloons at my door, went thru the day with folks singing to me and wishing me well, recognition at dinner, and just all out spoiling all day long. Tuff stuff.
Today we are on the high seas all day heading to Naples. Will update you on that next blog. It is, however, another BEAUTIFUL day. The seas are calm, there’s lot’s of activities on board if one so chooses to participate. We went on a quickie tour of one of the galley’s and met the Chef and some of his behind the scenes staff.
Today in Naples was also beautiful Warm, clear, and crowded. Wow, must have been a fair or something. As bad, if not worse than N.O. at Mardi Gras. Lot’s of walking, lot’s of folks, lot’s of beauty. See me on my return to hear and see “the rest of the story”.
Rome tomorrow then home Wednesday. I’ll give my final update Friday or Saturday. I do hope you have enjoyed traveling with me, Jim, & Dee. We have enjoyed having you along. (Maybe next time we can all REALLY go together.
Until then, be blessed, keep smiling, and have a wonderfully HAPPY THANKSGIVING.

Rhodes
Rhodes,
Just another beautiful day of sightseeing, photo taking, and SHOPPING! Pretty neat stuff here and we decided not to take a tour, so it was a fairly short day. Saw a couple of sights this morning that I won’t soon forget, yuck, but that’ll be something you’ll have to ask me about. We didn’t know what we were paying for the beer so we got shafted BADLY, but that’s ok… We’ll get over it. As you can see, there are a few shops in Rhodes and most of them are clones of each other. Good prices, friendly folks, and plenty of walking. Will see more shows tonight, have another adult beverage, then it’s off to bed to prepare for Santorini and my birthday tomorrow. Again, hurry and get here so we can enjoy this together. Love you and see some of you in a week. (Wow, did that go by fast)

Turkey
Ahhhhhh, Turkey.
Kusadasi & Ephesus, what a memory,
Up early today for a tour to Ephesus. For Bible readers, that’s one of the places Paul, the Disciple, took so much interest in and that is the people that he wrote the book of Ephesians to. It was exciting stuff walking on the same streets that he walked on and looking at the sights. So much history and so many beautiful things to see. (Yes, I know that it’s all RUINS, but it’s still pretty exciting.) The Magnesia Gate, the streets, the Celsus Library, the two theaters, (the great theater that you see seated 25,000 folks and is where Paul preached), and yes even the toilets. Then we came back to Kusadasi and Dee did her thing, SHOP, and she loved it. Jim and I just walked, talked, and eventually did some shopping ourselves. I did find a couple of things, and one that I didn’t need. (Toni & Trudi; Jim & Dee left me alone for a while so that’s why I ended up with that one gift you see me with. It’s their fault.) You will love her. Yeah, right…… LOL…
I am on the balcony as we are preparing to leave for Rhodes and another day of photos and shopping. All in all, “It’s A Wonderful Life”. (Jimmy Stewart)
Woops, time to go eat AGAIN, so I’ll close for now and send this as soon as I can get to the Internet CafĂ©. Again, enjoy and please make a comment to let me know that you are enjoying, hating, wishing, planning, dreaming, are just wanting me to know.
Love to you and yours and I hope to see you or hear from you soon…..
